Harry was born in and grew up in Niagara Falls. 'I attended Rensselaer Polytech in Troy, NY class of 1931, left Niagara in 1933, and joined the GM Research Lab and was then transferred to the Engineering Staff where I remained until retirement in 1969.
We moved to Stowe, in the mountains of northern Vermont, in 1971. I still like to ski but the mountain is getting too dangerous with all the incompetents that come up here so we just do cross-country - much safer and MUCH better for my bulging waist!'
Before retiring from GM Harry C Jr was, for several years, the US delegate to the Inland Transport Commission of the UN and went to Geneva twice a year. On one trip he reports meeting the French delegate's mother from Normandy, who told him that his name was familiar in that part of France.
