This medal was presented to Robert Dunville for taking part in the Coupe Aéronautique Gordon Bennett ballooning competition of 1925. John Dunville and Squadron Leader Baldwin were listed as the pilot and co-pilot of Banshee III. Presumably Robert Dunville also flew in Banshee III.

This medal was presented to Robert Dunville for taking part in the Coupe Aéronautique Gordon Bennett ballooning competition of 1926. Squadron Leader Baldwin and R.L. Dunville were listed as the pilot and co-pilot of Banshee III.

The photograph of Robert Lambart Dunville wearing the cap with the badge of the Grenadier Guards, at the top left, is from Robert Lambart Dunville's albums, which are in the care of the RAF Museum, London.

The photographs of Robert Lambart Dunville in the uniform of the Life Guards, at the top right, and in hunting tunic were very kindly provided by Christopher Dunville, who is a great-grandson of Robert Lambart Dunville, and the 1925 medal was loaned by him.

The photographs of Robert Lambart Dunville with Patou and with the young zebra, and the photograph of Bruno the bear, were very kindly provided by Gordon Thompson (Senior) and Gordon Thompson (Junior), who are a son and a grandson of Tommy Thompson, the Gamekeeper of Redburn House.
