Robert Dumvill (c1735-1819) went to the USA from Belfast in 1770. His nephew Richard Andrew Dumvill (c1765-1836) went to live with him in about 1773 when Richard Andrew Dumvill's father remarried. Richard Andrew Dumvill is the ancestor of the Dunvilles of Kentucky. The family name was changed from Dumvill to Dunville by Sarah Ellen Morris, wife of Richard Andrew Dumvill Jr.
