He reportedly went into the linen business. In 1772 he and his family moved to Scotland where their son James Bell Domville was born in 1778. They returned to Clonmel before 1781 (see Source Documents Clonmel Gazette 1781 and 1787 Directory of Clonmel), but Henry returned to Edinburgh and died there in 1789.

He was educated at the University of Edinburgh and was awarded the Surgeon's Diploma on 8 March 1785. He practised in Lisburn, County Antrim in 1786, lived in Ballinamuck House, Market Hill, County Armagh in 1787, and was a surgeon in the Armagh Militia between 1793 and 1818.
